The world of blocks and dolls

Zámek 1, 285 22 Zruč nad Sázavou

Let yourself be tempted to explore hundreds of exhibits from the legendary Czech Seva kit with the icing on the cake in the form of animals from the Seva Noah's Ark project and admire the collection of artistic dolls, among which stand out hand-modelled wax dolls from the 18th century. The attic of the zruč castle is literally a children's paradise, but it will also delight the grown-ups and make you forget about time and worries.

A part of the spacious exhibition will present common factory sets and unique own creations of Petr Šimr, collector and owner of the complete range of Seva kits and other products of Kovozávod Semily (nowadays the manufacturer Seva is merging), designer, builder and holder of three Czech records. "The exhibits on display will convince you that you can build almost anything out of Seva - a forty-eight centimetre wasp or a sixty centimetre dragonfly, but also satellites or space shuttles," says Petr Šimr. To think that Seva is only for boys would be a mistake. The kit looks extremely pretty in pink, for example on a kitchen stove or a pram. Not only children will enjoy the play area.

The second part of the exhibition belongs to more than two thousand dolls. They are accompanied by stuffed animals, but there are also the necessary "doll's props" - carriages, horse-drawn carriages, toys and also houses. "In some parts of the exhibition you will be able to see what it looks like at home, how dolls cook, eat or rest," says collector Renée Votíková. In addition to Czech dolls, her collection also includes dolls from well-known foreign manufacturers. The play corner is complete with dresses for princesses and princes. Come and take a nice photo in a royal gown!
