The wooden lookout tower with metal elements and a staircase is located in the "Mezi cestami" locality, about 2 km north of Zruč nad Sázavou. It stands at an altitude of 451 m above sea level. The viewing platform is at a height of 24 m.
After climbing 130 grated steps, you will have a view of the whole town and its surroundings - in the south-east you will see the Melechov hill near Ledec nad Sázavou, in the south-west the Velký Blaník hill near Vlašim, in the eastern direction you will see the Fiolník hill near Vlastějovice and in the west you will see the Jordán hill and the village of Chabeřice. On the top you can also watch the "click-turn" and learn more about the mentioned peaks. You can enjoy the view at any time - the lookout tower is freely accessible all year round. If you drive, there is a car park at the new cemetery, about 1 km from the lookout.
If you are a collector of tourist stamps or business cards, those with the Babka lookout tower are available at the information centre.
You can combine a visit to the tower with a pleasant walk along the hiking trail. It starts at the train station, but if you don't take the train, it doesn't matter - the information panel with all the information is also on MUDr. J. Svoboda Square. Neither the length of the trail nor its terrain is difficult, so both seniors and parents with children can manage it. You can walk through the castle park, around the Chabeřské Rocks and the final stop is at the Babka lookout tower.
